St. Patrick’s Day is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated on March 17th each year. It originated in Ireland but is now celebrated in many parts of the world. While pets are not typically involved in the festivities of St. Patrick’s Day, there are some things pet owners should keep in mind to ensure their furry friends stay safe.

In summary, while pets are not typically involved in St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, pet owners should still be cautious of any potential hazards associated with the holiday to ensure their furry friends stay safe and healthy.

Keep your pet safe: If you plan to take them out to a St. Patrick’s Day parade or event, ensure they’re safe and comfortable. Keep them on a leash or harness, and be aware of their behavior around large crowds and loud noises.

Avoid toxic foods: If you plan on indulging in some traditional St. Patrick’s Day treats like corned beef and cabbage, be sure to keep these foods away from your pets, as they can be toxic. Chocolate is also a typical St. Patrick’s Day treat but extremely harmful to dogs and cats.

Dress your pet up: If you’re feeling festive, dress your pet up in some St. Patrick’s Day attire, like a green bandana or a shamrock collar. Ensure the clothing is comfortable and doesn’t restrict their movement or breathing.

Provide a safe space: Some pets may be anxious or stressed by the noise and excitement of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Make sure they have a quiet and comfortable space to retreat to if they need a break.

Consider pet-friendly events: Look for pet-friendly St. Patrick’s Day events in your area where you can bring your furry friend along. These events will be designed with pet safety and comfort in mind and can be a fun way to celebrate the holiday together.

Pet owners should be mindful of any decorations or items that could harm their pets. Shamrocks and other plants associated with St. Patrick’s Day, such as lilies and daffodils, can be toxic to pets if ingested. Additionally, pets may be tempted to play with decorations, which could lead to choking hazards or other injuries.

Finally, if you plan on attending any St. Patrick’s Day events, leaving your pets at home is best. Loud noises, crowds, and unfamiliar surroundings can be stressful for pets and may cause them to become anxious or scared.

We’re excited to announce that Groomit is crowdfunding for investments! Would you like to be the next to invest in a fast-growing startup within the booming pet industry?

Our in-home grooming service has done nothing but wow the
residents of New York City, Connecticut, and Philadelphia. Now, we’re looking
to the future. We want to continue to expand our service so that we may bring
our impeccable grooming service to even more pet owners.

Have we captured your interest? Keep reading to find out
what sets Groomit apart from the competition and why we make for a great
investment.

What is Groomit All About?

Groomit is a service that prides itself on providing expert dog and cat grooming for their customers in the most convenient way possible; by coming directly to your door. Customers simply need to make an appointment on the mobile app and choose a grooming package. Then, we’ll automatically match them with an appropriate expert groomer.

Our on-demand in-home grooming solution is a far cry from
how the pet grooming industry has functioned in the past, with pet salons
requiring pet owners to drive their animals down to the grooming business for
their appointment.

This causes a lot of stress, both to the owner and the
animal! A lot of us simply don’t have the time to frequently drive our pets
around, while the animals themselves don’t tend to enjoy it either.

Groomit’s unique solution has been a huge hit with the busy residents of NYC, Connecticut, and Philadelphia, which is why we are such a fast-growing startup. We’ve provided pets with all the love and care they need while offering our customers the utmost in convenience.

Investment Startups: Why Invest in Groomit?

As a fast-growing startup, investing with us will allow our business to expand further, bringing our services to more pet owners throughout the U.S. This, of course, will come with benefits for our investors too!

Your investment will be converted into equity within the
company at a $6,000,000 cap. This will lead to a fantastic return on your
investment as we continue to grow our revenue further. We can also offer some
various fun perks for our investors, ranging from merchandise to free
appointments depending on the amount invested.

As a bit of a background on our current revenue, we’ve generated $1.5 million in NYC alone. This will easily transfer to other metropolitan areas across the U.S. On top of our revenue, we have average ratings of 4.5 and up on Yelp, so you know our service is of true quality.

If you’re quick, you will be able to take advantage of our early bird terms; our first investors will receive the best terms of the bunch!

Invest in a Startup: How Do I Invest in Groomit?

If you’re looking to invest with us, you can find our WeFunder page here. On it, you
will find all the information you need to make your final decision, including
our financial situation and further background on the company.

Investing is as simple as making an account and typing in
how much you’d like to give!

We at Groomit are incredibly thankful to each and every
investment we receive. In return, we look to continue expanding and providing a
fantastic return for your money given. This is not something you’ll want to
miss out on!

Thank you for reading! Click to send an investment now,
or if you wish to discuss things further, feel free to get in touch. We’re
looking forward to hearing from you!

This #WiseWednesday post falls on quite a special time; not only is Christmas coming up, but the entirety of December is National Cat Lovers month!

Therefore, we thought we would focus this post on our cute
kittens and why they make for such great companions. Along with this, we are
going to offer some indispensable grooming tips to help you care for your
fluffy balls of trouble!

So, let’s get started and take a look into what cats do for
us and what we can do for them in return!

Benefits of Being a Cat Owner – They Can Melt Away Your Stress!

Ever come home from an incredibly stressful day, just to see
your oblivious cat running about excitedly and wanting to play? Their wonderful
innocence and care-free nature can serve to simply make all the stress of the
day disappear.

Playing with your cat can be a fantastic way of keeping them energetic and happy while helping you to relax. However, if you notice they keep getting their claws stuck in their toys, it may be time to get them trimmed.

For a guide on how to safely trim your cat’s nails, see here. Keep in mind we at Groomit can always take care of it ourselves if you need the help!

Benefits of Being a Cat Owner – Cuddles and Snuggles!

There is no better feeling than the happiness that comes
with having your furry furball snuggle up close to you!

Cats tend to be super affectionate and loving animals,
regardless of the popular false opinion that they don’t actually care about
their owners. We can see every day that this simply isn’t true!

When you cuddle with your kitty, it’s a good idea to give
their coat a check over while you do so. Notice any tangles or knots? These can
be uncomfortable and even painful! Luckily, we at Groomit are always on hand to
help remove any matting before it gets worse. Just
let us know!

Our Cats Could Always Use a Little Help!

While cats certainly do tend to show more care for their
coats than dogs, it’s not something they can completely handle on their own!

Sometimes, on top of the normal regular brushing and nail
trimming, a bath might be necessary to get rid of any dirt and muck that they
have accrued during their daily adventures.

But we all know that bathing a cat can be pretty difficult at the best of times! That’s why many cat owners turn to Groomit to provide a bath for their kitties at regular intervals. It keeps their coat looking shiny and beautiful, but most importantly, it helps them to be healthy and comfy.

Give Your Cats Some Extra Love This Special Month

With it being National Cat Lovers Month, it can be a great
time to treat your cats and yourself to something special. You all deserve it!

A great way you can show your love and devotion to your cats
is to let us at Groomit spruce them up for the upcoming holiday season. Not
only will the grooming help them look good, but it will ensure they are healthy
and comfortable.

Additionally, we come to your home to perform our work! Meaning there is no stress for you and you can take some time to relax and do something you enjoy too! Let us do the work while you take some much needed time to yourself.

Make an appointment with
us now!

It’s almost that time of year again! There’s a lot to look
forward to; we imagine that some of you already have some fun family activities
on the agenda.

But have you made sure to include your pets? They are a
family member too, and it simply would not be fair for them to be an outsider to
the celebrations!

How do you actually get your pets involved with the Thanksgiving festivities?

Don’t worry, there are plenty of fun things they can take part in! In this #WiseWednesday post, we are going to go through some great ideas for Thanksgiving activities that your dog or cat will absolutely adore.

So, let’s get into it!

Thanksgiving and Pets: Enjoying the Festivities!

It’s a good idea to plan out some activities throughout the
day that gets the entire family having fun together. This holiday only comes
around once a year after all!

However, be sure to keep your pets in mind when you plan
these activities, and ensure that it might be something that they can enjoy too.
For example, playing catch in the yard can be great fun for both humans and dogs!

While cats are usually calmer and more independent than
dogs, that doesn’t mean that they don’t deserve the attention. If you have any
more chill activities planned within the day, such as watching a film, take
this opportunity to include the cat with some cuddles and snuggles!

Give Thanks to Your Pet with a Cute Gift!

Thanksgiving is all about showing your appreciation and gratitude. Therefore, it can be the perfect time to give a gift to your pet for everything they do!

This gift could be absolutely anything, but to keep things
in line with the holiday spirit, why not get them a Thanksgiving-related present?
This can be a way to further get them involved!

There are plenty of items online that could be a great fit;
ranging from simple chew toys to costumes! Check here
for some ideas for dogs, and here
for some ideas for cats.

Treating Your Pet to a Feast of Their Own!

Another reason to be excited for Thanksgiving is the great food
that comes with the occasion. Why not get your pets excited too with some
especially tasty Thanksgiving food?

While table scraps are a big no-no due to the fact that they
can wreak havoc with your pet’s digestive system, and in some cases even poison
them, there are plenty of pet appropriate recipes out there that can serve as a
delicious treat for your animals.

Making your pets some treats at home with a Thanksgiving
spin can be a brilliant way of giving them their own safe and healthy Thanksgiving
feast! Here are some mouth-watering
ideas for dogs, and here are some scrumptious
recipes for cats!

We Wish You All a Safe and Fun Thanksgiving!

While this can be a very exciting and fun time for your pets, it’s important to realize that the influx of family members and the busy schedule of the day can be a bit overwhelming, especially for timid animals.

Be sure to always let your dog or cat have their own space
if they need it, and teach any young children that are present to be respectful
and gentle when petting and playing with your pets.

We at Groomit hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving. If you’re looking to get your pet all spruced up for the festivities, we are always on hand to help! Just make an appointment whenever it is most convenient!

Happy holidays!

Halloween is just around the corner, which means thousands of children (and sometimes even adults) will be going around their neighborhoods with the hopes of being greeted with some candy at each doorstep. While most humans get a kick out of this holiday, dogs don’t always share our enthusiasm, often fearing the constant knocking on the door and being greeted by children wearing all manner of spooky costumes.

With a few tips in mind, you can make sure that you keep your dog calm during the popular trick-or-treating night of Halloween. We’ve collected five of the most important tips that you should take into consideration if you have a dog and are concerned about how your pooch will handle the influx of door-bell-ringers.

1. Focus on Teaching a “Quiet” Command

Training your dog to recognize and obey the “quiet” command can be one of the most valuable steps you take before Halloween night.

The great thing about teaching dogs is that – with some effort and patience from your side – you can achieve a lot. If your dog is particularly food-motivated and eager to learn, he may pick up this command within just a few days.

The quiet command does take some practice. The idea behind the “quiet” command is to get your dog to calm down and stop barking when you do say this word along with a hand signal (most folks choose the “shhh” motion of bringing their finger to their lips).

To start off, assess your dog’s attitude towards the doorbell. One of the major reasons why your dog may become uncontrollable when the doorbell rings is due to fear. With this in mind, begin by associating a ringing of the doorbell with some positive things, such as a treat or a toy.

Initially, don’t worry if your dog barks at the door – simply provide tasty treats when the doorbell rings. For some dogs, this new positive association may be all you need to stop the barking.

Part two is adding the “quiet” command. Ring the doorbell and then use the “quiet” command and hand motion. Show your dog the treat clearly to get him focused on you. Wait for your dog to be quiet – even just a few seconds of silence counts at first! Treat and praise your dog for keeping quiet.

Next, you’ll want to try getting him to stay quiet for longer before giving another treat each time.

2. Find A Treat Your Dog Really Appreciates

When it comes to treating your dog, one thing is for certain – a high-value treat will make your dog obey your commands and be obedient much more effectively than something you give him on a regular basis (like boring old kibble).

Every dog is different, however. What would be considered a high value treat for one pooch may not be so exciting for another canine. You might have to do some experimenting to find what your dog would really consider a valuable treat.

Hot dogs, string cheese, and peanut butter all usually work well as high-value treats for dogs. You should, however, take care when buying peanut butter. Never give your dog peanut butter that contains Xylitol, as it’s toxic for dogs.

3. Use CBD Oil To Relieve Canine Stress

CBD oil is a product that contains extracts from hemp plants. No, this is not the same as marijuana, so don’t worry that CBD oil will get your dog high – the oil does not cause psychoactive effects.

While the use of CBD oil products has become very popular among humans, our pets can also benefit from these oils.

There are different types of CBD oil for dogs – some are tinctures you can add to your dog’s food while others are CBD-infused dog treats. These products have been shown to provide an effective reduction in anxiety symptoms in many dogs. CBD oil can help chill your pup out when those trick-or-treaters start showing up. This will not only help prevent barking, but may also calm your dog enough that they’ll be more receptive to your training efforts.

In addition to being an effective remedy for stress and anxiety, CBD oil has several other benefits for dogs. This includes a reduction in inflammation and the potential alleviation of chronic pain symptoms. CBD oil may also help to ease symptoms of digestive disorders and help a dog better cope with the effects of arthritis.

4. Don’t Skimp On Exercise

Exercise is a critical part of keeping a dog healthy – but it may have more benefits for your pooch than just aiding in your dog’s overall well-being.

When it comes to preparing for the trick-or-treaters that will come by on Halloween night, exercise will definitely be a big factor in keeping your dog calm. Studies have shown that exercise is a great way of helping to relieve stress in dogs.

When you take your dog out for some exercise, it stimulates the release of a neurotransmitter known as serotonin. The chemical has a similar effect on dogs as it has in humans, giving your pup a good mood boost.

As they say, a tired dog is a happy dog. Wear your dog down so that they won’t have so much pent up energy, will feel better overall, and won’t be as likely to harass your visitors.

5. Put The Dog Away As A Last Resort

While some dogs can be effectively trained and persuaded with a few treats to keep calm and listen to you, this is not always the case.

Unfortunately, when this happens, your dog may feel stressed and act out when there are visitors who show up at your doorstep. If your dog doesn’t seem to be handling the trick-or-treaters very well, it might be a good idea to consider putting him away for the evening.

If you decide to put your dog away, make sure you keep him in a quiet, relaxing environment that is familiar to him, like his crate or your bedroom.

Consider putting on the radio to act as a distraction if the doorbell is setting him off. As always, make sure your dog has access to water and check up on them frequently. You should also leave a toy or two for your dog (or – even better – an engaging dog puzzle toy).

This will help to further distract them from what is happening at the front door!

***

If your house will be visited by trick-or-treaters during Halloween and you own a dog, then you need to prepare your pet for the people who will be arriving at the doorstep. Luckily, there are ways to make sure that your dog remains calm and does not feel frightened of those spooky little ghosts showing up at your doorstep. Follow the tips above for a fun and fright-free Halloween!

Father’s Day is fast approaching; I’m sure you all have some plans on how to treat the dads in your life.

But have you considered your dad dogs and cats? They are just as deserving of a celebration!

In this quick article, we will be taking you through ideas on how to show your appreciation and love for both the human and pet dads in your family!

A Fun Day Out!

If the pet in question is very energetic and playful, why not take them on an outdoors trip?

Hiking, camping, taking them for a swim, all of these can be great ideas for such pets to have a special day expending some of their seemingly limitless energy.

As the saying goes, a tired dog is a happy dog!

You could even combine this day out with the human fathers in your life and have a full family day out. If the dad in question is the outdoorsy type, they certainly aren’t going to say no to a good hike or a night out camping!

Gift Your Pet Something Special

If such a high energy day is not their thing, a lovely gift for both of them can be another way to celebrate the day.

Toys and treats are staple choices for pets, and there are plenty of things out there for dads of all types!

Everyone’s pet is unique and you know best what they like and dislike. However, if you are hurting for ideas, this post here is a great place to start and get some inspiration!

On the other hand, if you’re unsure what to get your father this holiday, look no further than here for some good ideas!

A Professional Grooming For Your Pet

While not exactly a gift for human dads, a fantastic gift for pets that keeps on giving is a professional grooming session with our service!

At Groomit, your pet always comes first.

We come to your home, where your pets feel most comfortable. From there, our friendly and enthusiastic groomers will work their magic.

Happy Father’s Day to Dad Pets Everywhere!

Dad pets are commonly forgotten when it comes to this time of year, despite the fact they deserve to be acknowledged as much as anyone else!

Let’s get more and more dad pets everywhere involved in the celebration!

We hope this article has given you some inspiration as to how you could treat both human and pet dads in your family.

With the holiday season fast approaching, many families can find themselves rushing around getting Christmas gifts, organizing family meetups, and decorating the house to ensure that this will be a great end to the year for the entire family.

However, in the middle of all is our oblivious pets! As members of the family, they deserve to be involved just as much as anyone else in the end of year celebrations.

So here are some tips to ensure they have a great and comfortable time this Christmas and New Year!

Pet Gifts and Getting Them Involved!

Dogs and cats can love Christmas and the New Year as much as you do if you get them involved!

Gifts can be a fantastic way of ensuring that your pets feel the excitement of Christmas. Dog Christmas toys can include bones, squeaky toys, and balls. As for cat Christmas toys, a new scratching post, cat trees, or even a laser pen can be great.

It can also help to get your pets dressed up for the season! Christmas clothes for cats can really ramp up their cuteness to the maximum, while dog Xmas jumpers are also a lovely thing to look into!

Pets, Fireworks, and You

While there are many things about Christmas your pets have to be excited about, there are also some anxiety triggers that you need to be aware of to keep them safe.

With the holiday season (especially the New Year) comes the guarantee of a few fireworks going off. These loud bangs can terrify pets, causing them anxiety and in severe cases, a need to escape.

To ease their anxiety, preparing a safe space can be a good step. Place it in a quiet room within the house and fill it with the pet’s favorite toys or bedding to help them feel relaxed. If your pet needs your attention you should give it to them, but if they’d like to be left alone you should do so. For more tips, see here.

Separation Anxiety and the Holiday Season

The best thing you can do for your pet this Christmas and New Year to ensure they have a comfortable experience is to not leave them completely alone in the house.

Many families attend Christmas or New Year parties away from home, and may sometimes leave their pets to fend for themselves. Along with the possibilities of fireworks and loud nearby parties, this can lead to quite a bit of anxiety in pets.

Of course, only you know how dependent or independent your pet may be. But it is worth considering they may need some extra care to feel safe and happy this holiday season.

If you are looking to get some professional grooming done for your pets before the family arrives at Christmas, having to take your pet to an unfamiliar place to get a makeover can only add to their stress. However, we at Groomit offer an in-home grooming service so your pet can stay relaxed at home while we do our stuff!

Our groomers are experienced in dealing with anxious pets and calming them down, so you don’t have to worry and can focus on getting the home ready for the festivities!

Making Sure Your Pet Is Ready For This Holiday Season!

As mentioned earlier, there is a lot for families to take care of to ensure things run smoothly at the end of the year!

But what can be a really nice early gift to your pets is a professional grooming session with us, to ensure that they are feeling and looking their best for the festivities! Their coat and paws can use some extra work during this time of the year.

With that, we at Groomit wish your family and all your pets a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Dogs: a Netflix series. If you are a dog lover this series will make you happier. Six stories of unconditional love between humans and their best friends look like a very entertaining and emotional documentary.

From countries including Syria, Japan, Italy and the United States, each episode celebrates how dogs and humans are doing to change each other’s lives. The fourth episode, set in Japan, introduces two renowned dog groomers who fly to California to show off their artistic skills in the ultimate dog-grooming competition.

Co-producer Glenn Zipper said: “Dogs don’t just make us feel loved, dogs make us feel safe. In the world we live in today, no matter how divided we are, we should take care to realize how much dogs mean to all of us, and how our bond with them can help bring us together.”

Halloween is a fun time for candy, scary decorations and great family traditions, however, it is important to get your pet ready for this holiday! Especially those pets that can easily become anxious and fearful. We have some tips to get your pet prepared for those strange noises, monsters and strangers coming to the house constantly…. most of them involve treats!

1. Take Your Dog for a Walk During Day and Night Before Halloween

Get your pets used to the Halloween decorations, as some neighbors get things ready before October 31st. You can let your dog see the decorations during daylight on your regular walks and after they are familiar, do the same walk during the nights. Get your pet used to the dark and take some treats with you so they can keep a positive outlook on the experience.

2. Show Your Pet the Costume You are Planning to Wear

It might be strange walking around the house in a Halloween Costume before the actual holiday but try at least to get your pet familiarized with it, especially if you are going to be entertaining or throwing a Halloween party. Show your pet the clothes/costume or headpiece in advance. Wearing the costume and giving them another treat will definitely help with positive reinforcement.

3. Be Patient if you are Planning on Dressing up your Pet

Pets look awesome in their costumes! Before writing this article I found so many cute pets dressed up! All this research made me want to dress my dog this Halloween. First, make sure that your pet is willing, and if so, find a custom that is comfortable for your pet to wear. Let your pet be familiarized with the costume by being around it beforehand. If it has more than two pieces, try one piece at a time. Also while they are wearing it, try to make it a positive experience, and give them a treat.

4. Get Your Pet Familiar to the Doorbell and Knocking

If your dog is especially anxious you probably need to get them ready for Halloween. Usually, the bell ringing is worse than the knocking, so try giving them a treat while the bell is ringing. Try to do it every day until Halloween night. If that’s not possible try to settle your dog in a nice spot away from the front door with a toy or and a treat that can keep them busy and entertained.

5. Keep Your Dog Away from the Candy

Remember Candy and chocolate is very bad for pets, they are one of the many foods you need to keep away from your dog. Just have an eye on your pet and get ready more dog cookies this Halloween.

Have a Fantastic Halloween From All of Us At Groomit!

We hope this article has helped you prepare a safe and exciting Halloween night for your family and pets!

Remember, if you are looking to have your dog or cat spruced up for the festivities, whether that be for a spooky costume or to just bring out their cutest qualities, we at Groomit are always on hand to give them a stress-free professional grooming session. Just give us a shout!
