To help maintain safety during the COVID-19, Groomit has provided protective equipment (i.e. masks, gloves, and shoe protections) to groomers.

Groomers will wear masks/facial coverings, shoe covers, and/or gloves during grooming as an enhanced safety measure. Clients may share special cleanliness requests prior to the groomer arriving at their home. We ask that for in-home services, clients to keep social distancing and wear face masks.

Cleanliness Practices

Groomit Groomers are following CDC guidelines on Social Distancing, hand-washing or using hand sanitizer with at least 70% alcohol content. Groomers are asked to remove shoes upon entering homes or use shoe covers and wash hands thoroughly prior to beginning each treatment. Groomers are asked to disinfect equipment between customers.

Groomer Wellness

Each day when providers open the Groomit Groomer app, they are asked to confirm that they do not display any symptoms of COVID-19 or other infectious illnesses. They are also encouraged to do daily temperature checks. Groomit asks that clients refrain from booking an in-home treatment if they or a household member are under an isolation or quarantine order/directive, or if they have a fever, COVID-19 symptoms, or a communicable illness.

So, it’s almost summertime once again! However, many are worried that the season may be vastly different than the usual fun-filled time, due to concerns over coronavirus in the summer months.

Does this mean that this is a summer to be spent sheltering
indoors? It would be a shame!

However, it doesn’t have to be this way! There are still
plenty of safe summer activities that can be done with our pets to ensure that
we can still make the most of the warm weather.

Let’s take a look at various ways you can enjoy the season, while remaining safe and protected from the coronavirus.

Having Fun In and Around the Home!

Social distancing is still heavily recommended by both the
CDC and the WHO, so it’s safest to stay indoors more than you usually would
during this time.

However, this doesn’t mean that we should think of our homes
as a prison; there’s still plenty we can do to have fun and enjoy the weather!

For dogs, a secure backyard can be the perfect spot for them
to enjoy the weather safely. Ball games can take center stage here; there’s no
dog who doesn’t love to play fetch! Your family can enjoy playing with the dog
along with a nice BBQ.

Sometimes the most relaxing moments of summer can happen in
our own homes, after all!

For the less energetic puppers and for cats, you can instead
focus on ensuring the indoor space is filled with more toys and activities to
keep their minds and bodies busy. While your pets explore all the new stuff,
your family can crowd around some board games or jigsaw puzzles, so you can
keep your own brains busy!

Going Outside the Home – What Do I Need to Know?

While there is a lot we can do to enjoy the season while staying indoors, it’s not the same as actually getting outside!

But what can we do to keep ourselves safe from the risk of coronavirus in the summer?

Social distancing is key here. Take as many measures as you
can to ensure that you and your pets remain at least 6 feet away from other
people or animals.

Facemasks are recommended, especially if you believe you are
going to be unable to observe the 6 feet rule. We’d also recommend that you
avoid public transport if possible.

Finally, remember to wash your hands regularly for at least
20 seconds!

By taking the above precautions, you’ll minimize the risk of exposure to the coronavirus. Keep in mind that your safety should always be prioritized above summer fun!

Enjoy the Warm Weather with a Trip to the Park!

If you’re based in NYC, the parks are currently open, making
them the perfect spot for a leisurely walk with your pets.

However, keep in mind that dog runs are currently closed.
This is due to the fact that it is heavily recommended that you keep your dogs
leashed and maintain a 6ft distance from other people and animals.

There are still plenty of dog-friendly parks across NYC that
you may visit though; you
can find a list here!

You can take the opportunity to enjoy the scenery of these parks and the warm weather by taking a nice walk or jog with your dog. There’s plenty of beautiful parks just waiting to be explored.

Coronavirus in the Summer: Let’s Make the Most of it!

It’s going to be a different summer than usual; there’s no
escaping that.

However, it’s important to not despair or feel sorry for
ourselves. It’s still possible to have a great summer! We just need to remember
that our safety is what’s most important.

Remember, if your pets need a good groom over the summer months, we at Groomit are here to help while observing all the recommendations and procedures given by the WHO and CDC. You can make an appointment now by clicking here!

Keep in mind, it’s not only dogs that benefit from a good groom; cats do too! Especially in the summer. Take a look here if you want to learn more!

We at Groomit wish you a fun and safe summer!

Pet grooming is essential for maintaining your pet’s hygiene, health, and overall well-being. While traditional grooming salons have been the standard for years, many pet owners are now shifting toward in-home pet grooming services.

In-home grooming offers a safer, more comfortable, and stress-free experience for both pets and their owners. If your pet gets anxious during travel or grooming visits, this approach can make a significant difference.

What Is In-Home Pet Grooming?

In-home pet grooming is a service where professional groomers come directly to your home to groom your pet. Instead of taking your pet to a salon, the entire grooming process happens in a familiar environment.
